Restaurant Alte Post in Dannenberg

We spent several days at the Hotel Alte Post several times. It was always very clean. The hotel owners were very nice and accommodating our needs. The restaurant offered us a relaxing atmosphere. We really enjoyed the menu. It was very tasty, creatively presented and the menu varied. We thank you for the nice hospitality. We would be happy to come back after the lockdown.

Great ambience. The food that we were allowed to enjoy received a full five stars. Chapeau.

Due to a breakdown in our car, we stayed in Dannenberg on Sunday, August 2nd, 2020, picked up the phone and called the hotel "Alte Post" at random. Without hesitation, the boss picked us up personally, gave us a super nice room and served us a very tasty meal in the evening. I can only thank the entire team once again for everything and can only warmly recommend the hotel, the food and the service. René and Martina from Lemwerder

Great accommodation in a half-timbered house directly on the Alte Jeetzel. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Perfect for a short vacation, to unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature in the Elbtalaue biosphere reserve! Gladly again!

Cozy, cuddly warm ambience. The landlord was friendly and humorous. The food was delicious and the value for money totally consistent. We had a successful "girls evening" and will be back very happy.

Not recommended ... Goose tough, crust wobbly. Dumplings more bread than kloss. Drinks come after the meal. Sauce on request. Really very regrettable. There are good restaurants nearby

Very good regional cuisine, with fresh ingredients. We felt very comfortable, nice staff and atmosphere. The portions are very generous and there is something for everyone. Everything tasted very good and fresh. We'd love to come back!

Super well maintained, old half-timbered house with terrace on the canal. Very nice welcome from the owners. Parking is not right outside the door, but not too far away (about 500 meters). Breakfast was okay.

I stayed at the Hotel in November 2017 because my Mom had been hospitalized in Dannenberg. I can't say enough about the kindness and help the hotel owner has shown me. I was given a beautiful room, which had surprisingly very modern decor and amenities. The food at the restaurant was excellent and service impeccable. My mom sadly passed away, but I always remember all the help I was given by a very caring hotel owner to ease this difficult time for me. If you are in Dannenberg stay at the Alte Post Hotel, you will not regret it - they really care about their guests.

New Year's Eve 2017 in the Alte Post was a firework of culinary delights. The New Year's Eve menu included six excellent courses with a very high level of taste: pink roast roast beef rolls stuffed with pesto cheese on baked rukkola, mashed potatoes of heather potatoes with white truffle oil and fresh herbs, crispy fried zander fillet on cream julienne with two kinds of vegetable puree, pink roasted pork tenderloin with fresh wild herbs and beans and bacon ribs, Barbarie duck breast à l'orange and for dessert a delicious white and dark mousse au chocolat with vanilla cloud. Before the individual courses, the chef surprised us with tips and tricks for the preparation of the respective dishes. In order to bridge the waiting time between the courses, Mrs. Heike Grüter-Hommerich told stories and anecdotes around the turn of the year. A cozy atmosphere in the restaurant and the warm and attentive service rounded off this successful evening. At the end as a surprise, a tealight sea awaited us in the hall with a musical farewell to the New Year. Thank you, we will gladly come again ...
